Erotic – adjective. Relating to or tending to arouse sexual desire or excitement.
David Peak has written since his teenage years. After leaving school he worked as a progress-chaser. Since he made little progress of his own in this, he left to study at the University of The West of England. Here, lecturer and author Tom Ingram – who’d read some of Dave’s writing – advised him to apply to The University of East Anglia’s new MA in Creative Writing.
Accepted onto the course in 1982 under Malcolm Bradbury, Dave worked on a piece which would eventually become his first published novel: No.4 Pickle Street, which received critical acclaim. Over the next few years, The Cotoneaster Factor and Go Gentle were also published by Fourth Estate and were again well-received.
In the new Millennium, the growing influence of the Internet on the practise of writing necessitated a different approach. The result was that Dave decided upon self-publishing and discovered – after research – Silverwood Books – whose principles and working practices impressed him greatly.
In this way, Miss Woo Country came out in 2016 and Curious Things Etc., 2017. He has recently completed a sixth novel: AphrodeSia.
Meanwhile, The Elephant Box, a previously-written but unpublished novel is here published as an e-book.
