Australian Aboriginal Art magazine launched its first issue in March 2009, sadly omly two issues were publlished.

Brimming with colorful illustrations, the launch issue features articles by Fred Myers and Roger Benjamin on early Papunya paintings in the Wilkerson Collection, including photographs of the Icons of the Desert exhibit at Cornell University. Brenda Croft, Alison French and Lotte Waters write about Albert Namatjira on the 50th anniversary of the artist’s death.

The magazine contains in-depth articles about artists Daniel Walbidi of Bidyadanga and Destiny Deacon. Also included are profiles of Apolline Kohen and Dhurru Art in Peppimenarti and remembrances of recently-deceased artists Bill Whiskey Tjapaltjarri and Ngarra. Kluge-Ruhe’s current exhibit Yuru-yururla: Womens’ Painting from Yuendumu was listed in the Calendar section.
