Girl Without A Sound

A story about a voiceless girl of colour in search of a sound of her own. It provides a catalyst to remind young readers of the power of the sounds trapped inside them. "...for the ones with moonlight in their skin." As an act of restoring power and agency to young black girls in South Africa. About the Author Buhle Ngaba is an award-winning South African actor and writer. She started the non-profit, KaMatla, to aid the development of the arts in underprivileged communities and to develop the legacy of storytelling amongst the youth. She was a recipient of the prestigious Brett Goldin Bursary, which allowed her the opportunity to expand her knowledge and acting ability of Shakespeare at The Royal Shakespeare Company in the United Kingdom. She recently won ‘Best Production’ and ‘Best Upcoming Artist’ for her first play, The Swan Song, at the Kanna South African Theatre Awards.
