A book of colour photos capturing the character of Dalston before the hipsters came along, a home full of traces of other homes.
Foreword by renowned Hackney psychogeographer Iain Sinclair.
The photos in this book, taken on old fashioned colour film, come from the early 2000s before the hipsters arrived in Dalston. They attempt to capture the particular character of the neighbourhood back then, a home full of traces of other homes.
The photos were originally hand printed at Chats Palace community darkroom. They were first shown in an exhibition at Cafe Pogo in Hackney in 2012, and in 2013 at To The Jungle Cafe in Dalston. Some were included in the Dalston Street Show as part of East London Photomonth 2016.
Foreword by renowned Hackney psychogeographer Iain Sinclair.
