Remainder Merchants that have bought from Central Books

The following are remainder merchants that have bought books more than once from Central Books when publishers wanted to reduce stocks. Remainder Merchants have become choosy in recent years and sometimes will not make offers on books presented to them. They often want to see samples.

If you make a deal with a reminder merchant make sure they have agreed to collect the items or at least pay for carriage. Remainder Merchants quite rightly offer small unit prices and the invoice value does not cover carriage.

Central Books distribute books on behalf of publishers. We do work for Book Leaf and Broomfield who both operate as Remainder Merchants.  

Sometimes publishers need to reduce stock to avoid storage charges, that may be why you are looking at this page. You are probably aware that what gets sold to the reminder trade ends up on Amazon (via merchants) and eBay.  Our advice is do not sell to a reminder merchant unless you plan to sell them all the stock of a given title(s). If your books become available on internets sites at very low prices and you still have stock you will not sell your own stock.

Publishers ask us if charities take bulk stock. Sometimes charities do take stock but they will not want to pay for delivery to their depot. Like Remainder Merchants stock given to charities can end up for sale on the internet markets places at lower prices than the publisher' s own stock.  Some publishers we work with have given books to https://books2africa.org/.
