Free Copy and Gratis Requests
Many of our client publishers will at times ask us to despatch goods on their behalf to send out as complimentary copies, event stock or consignment stock to their overseas distributors. Please send all such requests to frees@centralbooks.com. Be sure to give us the full delivery address and exactly what we should be sending. We often use couriers rather than the post office so PO Box numbers are not very useful (especially in the UK). If your request is urgent please tell us your deadlines (see information below about urgent requests).
If you are sending large amounts of goods overseas we will need a copy of your invoice or consignment note for shippers and/or customs.
This consignment note or invoice should include;
- Your address
- Consignee address
- Titles and quantities
- Shipper instructions
- Nominal value of goods.
- Your EORI number
Not sure what an EORI number is, please take a look at https://www.centralbooks.com/knowledge-base/eori.htmlIf you do not have an EORI number do not worry, send us the details without it but get a EORI number for future despatches. See the links above.
Urgent Frees Requests
Demand for “Next day delivery service” has risen sharply. We will therefore be applying an additional 10% surcharge to any “Next day” requests for 500 or more copies.
To avoid this charge please make sure you place urgent orders well in advance.
If you delivery request has a DEADLINE please tell us what it to help us meet it.
We will need 2 working days notice for 500 or more copies and 3 working days notice for 1,000 and more copies.
Charges
As we are not selling these consignments and complimentary copies they do not come under our normal distribution charges, so we charge for them and other exceptional services as follows
Prices from 01/10/2024
The prices below will apply from October 2024, carriage costs have been climbing at rates above inflation and all cost are up so we have had to increase our charges, since the last time we updated them in March 2023. Please note that overseas carriage costs are very volitile and may change again over the next 12 months.
