BO/USA, 2006 Claudia Joskowicz’s Music To Watch Dead Girls By, is filmed as one seamless slow motion tracking shot that records a series of interior recreations of ‘as shown on tv’ re-enactments of infamous murders of young American women. By patiently recording each cadavers relationship to its surroundings, Joskowicz allows the camera to forensically draw out the inherent beauty of these still lives as our eyes ever so slowly scan from one scene to another. Claudia Joskowicz recently exhibited work at Momenta Art Gallery, New York, Lawndale Art Center, Texas, Kinz, Tillou + Feigen Gallery, New York, Sara Meltzer Gallery, New York, Exit Art, New York and at the McDonough Museum of Art, Ohio.
