New Zealand poet and anthropologist Michael Jackson has been described by Martin Edmond as "one of our most astute, humane, idiosyncratic, neglected and perdurable writers." His poetry is characterised by its cosmopolitan range, its conceptual depth, lyrical concision, and craftsmanship.
